About the Book

Bill Monroe has given us a book that calls us back to the Great Commission. The Great Commission consists of three divisions which are covered so adequately in these pages. Number one is to make disciples; number two is to put them, by the act of baptism, into a local general assembly called the church; and number three is to train them. Then and only then did Christ promise to be with us until the end.

For more than a quarter of a century, we have departed from that one great mandate. The emphasis by many preachers today is the kingdom, or about people hurting, or that you can be better if you so desire. We must remember, however, that the Commission in this church age is to complete the Bride. When the Bride is complete, the Lord Jesus, the Bridegroom, will come back for her. I believe this book will help us to clearly see our task for these closing days in the dispensation of the church.
I would remind Bible students that in Genesis Chapter One, God finished His work of creation. In John 17:4, Jesus finished His work of redemption on the cross; and when the Bride is complete, He will return to catch her out to inhabit the new Jerusalem and eternity forever! God always finishes His work. In John 15:16, we see the three touches of the Holy Spirit on the life of every Christian. “You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you; I have ordained you, and I have commissioned you that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain.”

I believe that thousands of pastors in America and other countries will become more faithful to the Great Commission as a result of this book. Thank you, Bill, for giving of yourself and your talents to help us do that which the Lord Jesus Himself commanded and modeled 2000 years ago.

What leaders are saying about this book

Ever since meeting Bill Monroe in 1974, he has been committed to the Great Commission.  His life speaks the Great Commission, his ministry fulfills the Great Commission, and no one is better qualified to write on the Great Commission than Bill Monroe. May this book motivate many others to build a going church like Florence Baptist Temple. -Elmer L. Towns Dean, School of Religion Liberty University Lynchburg, Virginia

Bill Monroe has done the cause of Christ a real favor with his new book, Go. It is a sensible, Biblical, and much needed emphasis for a day that seems to have lost its vision or desire to win the lost.  Every pastor should read this book and lead his church to implement the suggestions Bill offers.  It will make a difference! -Evangelist Junior Hill

There is no way to carry out New Testament evangelism and church building without understanding the Great Commission. Dr. Monroe’s lifetime of reaching souls is revealed in Go. Read this book and then provide it to every church leader you know—as soon as possible! -Bobby Welch -Founder: FAITH Evangelism -Past President SBC

This book is challenging, insightful, balanced, motivational and faithful to God’s directives to win the lost. I wish every pastor would read this book. -Larry Upchurch Pastor, Mid-Way Baptist Church Raleigh, North Carolina

May God use this book to return us to evangelism that will impact our churches and our nation. -Pastor David Bouler Highland Park Baptist Church Chattanooga, Tennessee

Martin Luther did not invent the truth of justification by faith, but he did re-discover that long forgotten truth for his generation, and the result was a sea change in church history. Today, the Great Commission suffers not so much from being forgotten as from being neglected. Millions of Christians pay lip service to the command of Christ to disciple all nations, but few obey it as well as they could and should. Bill Monroe’s book gives us the logic, the rationale, the motivation, and the how-to for a resurgence of Great Commission action for the 21st century. Today’s churches must be Great Commission churches if they are to identify with and truly belong to the Lord Jesus Christ, the source of the Commission. Read this book and plan for a personal revival of the truth it contains for you and those you influence. -Keith Bassham Editor, Baptist Bible Tribune
