Roy Etienne Smith didn't grow up a stranger to church; however, church didn't have the power to protect him from the pain he experienced from very early on in his journey. While he knew "church," he didn't know God. Everything around him in his formative years spoke of heartache, pain, extreme dysfunction, addiction, and deep darkness.

Yet the environment Roy was born into did not intimidate God, nor did God see Roy the way others or he saw himself. The pathway Roy took to surrender to God's great love, His great grace, and His great mercy reveals both the tenderness as well as the power of the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Take your time as you read this blow-by-blow account of one of God's choice vessels and servants. You may be where Dr. Smith once was; it just means that by the grace of God you will get to where he came to be. God is no respecter of persons. What God has done for him, He will do for you! Solomon said that "the end of a matter is better than the beginning." That is what awaits you as you lay hold of the principles that Dr. Smith endeavors to teach you in this book. Wherever you are in your journey, whatever the challenge you face, indeed you need to hold on because help is on the way, and when you have been brought through your ordeal your faith will be refined as pure gold, and you will look back at your own Medley of Strength and render thanks to the One who in your weakness made you strong.

Author Bio

Roy Smith

Dr Roy Etienne Smith has been no stranger to abuse, trauma, or tragedy. Having been a victim of molestation and abuse, he also lost a sister to AIDS, and a mother to Cancer.   Sent to prison and back, but God had a plan! (A federal prison reunited him with his biological father when they were assigned to room together.)  “All things do work together for good.”

Dr Smith accepted his call into the Gospel Ministry October of 1989, in the Church of God In Christ (COGIC), at the age of 16. Having served for many years as a minister of music, and youth minister, God began to perfect his divine call and gifting with this Man of God.  He was publicly ordained by Pastor Rod Parsley and later consecrated into the Five Fold Ministry by Bishop/Apostle Otis Carswell. This author/teacher has been used by God to birth a bible school, various ministries, and community programs.

His testimony was a feature on the 700 Club.  He also has been an invited guest on the Daystar Television Network with Marcus & Joni Lamb, as well as Cornerstone Television.

What Leaders Say

Born into impossible circumstances, and enduring unimaginable abuse, it is by God's grace that Roy overcame the incredible odds against him.  With honesty and transparency, he recounts some of his darkest moments.  But even in the darkest times, God had His hand on Roy.  It's clear that what others intended for evil, God used for good.   Ultimately, God brought about healing and reconciliation for Roy in an unexpected and shocking way.  Roy's story demonstrates that God's desire is to restore us all, and there are no limits to the methods He uses to accomplish this.

-Amanda Scott, Senior Staff, 700 Club, Virginia Beach VA

Medley of Strength, I believe that it is timely and necessary.  An expose’ of the struggles of relationship (father/son) but also preparation for purpose as the wisdom of Christ is revealed in bringing a life to destiny despite its oppositions and difficulties.  -Apostle Williams Epps Mahiri International Council of Apostles and Prophets (ICAP) Akron Ohio

Do you really believe the promise that is given to us in Romans 8:28 that “ALL things will work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purposes?”  In “Medley of Strength,” Dr. Roy Etienne Smith paints a beautiful picture of God’s grace taking us from a chaotic mess to a divinely orchestrated destiny. As you read this book, your faith will rise, your emotions will be pulled, and you will begin to understand that God really is working behind the scenes to not only bring everything out for your good but to exceed your expectations!
-Pastor Darlene Bishop- Solid Rock Ministries, Monroe Ohio.

… Dr. Smith’s journey is such a tremendous parallel to the experiences of persons in Scripture, who met their true destiny after being imprisoned…. this story will enlarge the perspective of every believer, but particularly those who are suffering wrongfully. -Bishop Joseph L. Garlington, Sr Senior Pastor, Covenant Church of Pittsburgh. Presiding Bishop Reconciliation Ministries, INC

Take your time as you read this blow-by-blow account of one of God’s choice vessels and servants.
