EternityAbout the book

Here is an excerpt from the book...

There exists a profound contrast between the teachings of the Bible and the teachings of the Catholic Church concerning the sacrifice of Jesus. Scriptures reveal, “By one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin” (Hebrews 10:14,18). But according to the Catholic Catechism, “the sacrifice of Jesus and the sacrifice of the Eucharist are one single sacrifice…the same Christ who offered Himself once in a bloody manner on the cross is contained and offered in an unbloody manner on church altars. The Eucharist is thus a sacrifice because it re-presents (makes present) the sacrifice of the cross and is actually the body and blood, together with the soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ (CCC, para.1366-67; 1374). Catholics express their faith in the real presence of Christ by worshipping and adoring the wafer as if it were God (para.1378). The Vatican teachesthat every time the Mass is celebrated the work of redemption iscarried on (para.1405). Christ, in the Eucharist, is offered repeatedlyin reparation for the sins of the living and the dead (para.1414).

Author Bio

For 34 years Evangelist Michael P. Gendron was a devout Roman Catholic and a strong defender of the “one truechurch.” However in 1981, while attending an evangelical seminar, he heard for the first time that eternal life is not merited by good works but is given freely by God’s grace to those who put their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior! During the seminar, undeniable, objective truths were presented to establish the Bible as his final authority in all matters of faith. His new excitement and hunger for the inspired word of God lead him to help organize the very first Little Rock Scripture Study in Dallas, Texas at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Mike soon realized many of the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church were not found in the Bible. More importantly he was shocked to learn the Roman Catholic plan of salvation wasdiametrically opposed to the biblical plan of salvation. After morestudy he discovered that those who believe and embrace the sacramentalplan of salvation offered by the Vatican have only a falsehope and remain spiritually dead in their sins. No longer able toworship in a church that was taking its people down the wide roadto destruction,Mike left the Catholic Church in 1984 for a churchwhere the true Gospel is proclaimed and the Scriptures are thefinal authority in all matters of faith.

In 1988 he walked away from a successful career in corporate management to study at Dallas Theological Seminary (D.T.S.). During his studies, Mike began to realize that his experience as a Roman Catholic was similar to the experiences of most otherCatholics. He was taught from a very early age, to trust and rely onthe church, its priests, the sacraments and his own good works forsalvation. In 1991 during his last year at D.T.S., Mike’s love forCatholics inspired him to begin a ministry that would pointCatholics to the Lord Jesus Christ and His perfect, complete andfinished work of salvation. His heart is now burdened for thosewho may be where he was for most of his life—eternally condemned and not even aware of it.
