It’s that identity that has stayed with you until now. You’re still that same person. Or are you?

Satan wants you to believe that newborn life of long ago is worthless now. In fact, he is so engaged in your identity that he is doing everything in his power to take it away from you. But as a believer, you have all the power you need over him. You don’t have to believe his lies about you. You can choose to deny those lies and claim your life back through the awesome power of Jesus Christ. Identity theft is no new phenomenon. The need for identity protection increases each day. God in His infinite wisdom saw ahead to this day and time of ever increasing technology and by “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness” according to 2 Peter 1:3. Our problem is that we let Satan take our God given identity and power away from us.

It’s time to claim that identity back. We can’t let Satan get the victory here! As long as we live a life with even a speck of defeat, he HAS won. He’s taken that victory from us. Just remember the last page of Satan’s story. He LOSES in the end! And he knows it! Because WE are the victors, we need to claim our identity and live the abundant life that God intends for us to have. We must live victoriously. We must not let our sinful failures crowd out the joy and flowing forgiveness of God. We must live our lives with a confident identity in Him.

Karen Powers is a lifelong Christian and a lifelong learner.  She is a certified elementary teacher in the state of Texas, a certified public accountant, and loves to write and teach ladies’ Bible studies.  She is married to Wendell Powers, a pastor at Cielo Vista Church in El Paso, Texas.  They have three children; Laura, Ryan, and Lindsey.
